10th April

This morning we woke to rain. Rain rain and more rain. During the night the frenchies did not go to bed until almost 1am and about that time Libby joined us in our bed which was lopsided and sloped downwards to the left! Ohwell its not 5 star but we call it home. After running the clothes thru the dryer as they were wet we headed into the dreary morning at Canberra city.

We soon forgot the rain when we entered the world of the war. Canberra's Australian War Memorial was fascinating. The only problem being you could easily spend a whole day there. There was even a discovery room for the children set up with diff years of war and diff sets eg;submarine, city, bomb shelter and of course aircraft! The kids got to play with and touch everything as well as dress up as officers and nurses. The girls loved it but Olivia suddenly turned camera shy and refused to let me take her picture. She was very very cute but oh well Sophie obliged me!

When we emerged almost 3 hours later we took some shots of the Parliment House and then proceded to get lost and also loose Trish and Jimmy on the way to lunch. After missing each other several times we gave up and had lunch in two diff places finally meeting up just off one of the main roads to decided what to do next.

Next stop was the Black Mountain Telstra Tower where you could get 360 degree veiws of the city and surrounds. Not sure off the top of my head how high it was but it sure was high! Went outside on the roof to see and was nearly blown away so we stuck to the inside which was safe behind glass and much much warmer inside!

After seeing all of Canberra in one spot (mind you it was tiny) we went out to Gold Creek to see the miniture Village (where the little people live- Sophie tells a stranger its where my little sister livia lives) but unfortunatly we just missed the last viewing (may go back tomorrow if we have time) so we went backto the caravan park to get ready for dinner out as it was Trish's birthday today. The first pub we went to was a nightmare so we escaped and ran downthe road to the next pub (3 in town) where we had a lovely meal (Jimmy told the chef that we have been eating out for almost a month now ((didnt explain that eating out means eating outside not out a restraunts)) and that this was the best meal he had eaten in all that time- think he made the chefs day!) we then came back to the park for birthday cake and Sophie sung a solo Happy Birthday to Nanna (Olivia slept). Good night all round but not looking foward to tomorrow 5 to 15 it is.....brrrr....this is why im going back to darwin. BTW here is a photo of my big girl with her first set of pig tails. Cute huh?

Nite all XXX
